Arm Lift Burwood, Sydney

Are you looking to lose a little excess skin and fat after weight loss? Or looking for that extra toned look? An arm lift from Zen Medispa in Sydney could be the answer you’re looking for. Say goodbye to that excess skin on your arms!

What is an arm lift?

An arm lift (brachioplasty) is a procedure that involves reducing excess fat or sagging skin from the arm area. An arm lift can also tighten the tissues that defines the shape of the upper arm. We offer a range of treatments at our cosmetic clinic in Burwood to help you achieve your desired outcome.

Who is a suitable candidate for an arm lift?

  • Adults with excess droopy skin on their arms.
  • Adults who are unable to get rid of the excess skin from their arm even though they are exercising and are at a stable weight.
  • People who do not smoke.

Treatment options for an arm lift

The right treatment or procedure for you will depend on what you are hoping to achieve. For some of our patients, liposuction alone is enough. For others, loose skin may need to be removed after excess fat is removed. This combination is a surgical procedure.

Arm lift surgery

Arm lift surgery, also known as brachioplasty surgery, reduces excess skin which droops from the arm when extended away from the body. The aim of arm lift surgery is to tighten and smooth the underlying tissue which defines the shape of your upper arm.

What are the possible risks and complications associated with arm lift surgery?

As with any surgery, there are some risks associated with arm lift surgery. Some of these risks include:

  • Infection
  • Changes in skin sensation including numbness
  • Bleeding
  • Anaesthesia risks
  • Fluid accumulation
  • Poor wound healing
  • Unsightly scarring
  • Damage to deeper structures

Any possible complications will be discussed with you during the consultation. The reason we discuss these things with you is so you are fully aware of what can happen.

  • The benefits of an arm lift:
  • Removes excess fat and skin.
  • Gives your arm a much better tone.
  • Gives your arm a new and defined shape.
  • Your skin will appear much smoother.
  • Your arms will feel a bit lighter which will allow you to be more active.

There is no longer a reason for you to hide your arms under a long sleeve shirt anymore.

Arm Lift FAQs

The total duration of the arm lift surgery is approximately three hours long.

Yes, most body contouring procedures involve some scarring.

Yes, if you are a suitable candidate. Liposuction can be an effective part of an arm lift procedure. Zen Medispa uses Vaser Lipo, a less invasive and less painful alternative to traditional liposuction. The other advantage of Vaser Lipo is that it only targets unwanted fat, leaving important tissue intact.

Recovery from arm liposuction is roughly three weeks. However, this does depend on the amount of work you have done and your body’s natural ability to heal.

You should be able to return to work after a week; unless you have a desk job in which case you may be able to return after a few days.

As part of your recovery you will need to wear a compression bandage for at least two weeks post-op.

If you have realistic expectations as to what arm liposuction can achieve; then yes. This procedure can be worth it. Depending on your health—and your desired outcome—liposuction can help you sculpt and tone your arms.

This is beneficial for anyone who’s gone through significant weight loss or wants to improve the look they’ve achieved through exercise.

An arm lift is—in most cases—considered elective surgery, and so usually not covered by health funds. They may be exceptions to this, however, that is something you should discuss with your health fund.
