Does the procedure feel uncomfortable?
For some patients, this procedure can be an uncomfortable process. At our cosmetic clinic in Burwood, we try to ensure your comfort by applying a combination of topical and oral analgesics one hour before the procedure.
Despite this, patients sometimes describe a sun burn like sensation which can last for several hours. A moisturising wrap is applied afterwards to ease any discomfort.
How long does the procedure take?
The laser procedure depends on the treatment areas, but on average, a full-face treatment takes about two hours, while particular areas of the face obviously require less time.

This depends on what you are treating, its location, your skin tone, skin type, etc. Some treatments will require only one visit to effectively remedy to problem whereas others will require two or three visits to see results.
This is recommended for anyone who wants youthful and flawless skin. However, it may not be ideal for people with a dark complexion, a history of scarring from burns, or exposure to radiation of the desired treatment area.
This depends on the person, the type of laser being used, the area being treated and the wavelength of the laser. In some cases there may be some slight pain and irritation during the laser skin treatment with some sensitivity afterwards, but in other cases, the patient may not feel anything.
In most cases, the laser skin treatment will take around 10 minutes to complete however this depends on the severity of the problem, the location, your skin, etc. Laser skin treatments won’t go over 30 minutes due to the intensity of the lasers on your skin so you may need more than one visit to complete your treatment.
You will see your full results generally within 3 or 4 days. The results are permanent but cannot stop new signs of ageing. In case of deep lines, a touch up treatment may be required at 3 to 6 months.
With this type of laser treatment, a period between 7-10 days is normally recommended.
In extremely rare instances, dark pigmentation may occur which usually resolves by itself over several months.
